Today the Entertainment Society hosted a discussion seminar with some students who had gotten legal internships with companies last year. Most of them were 2nd or 3rd year students, but it was so inspiring All 4 students had worked in mainstream media, but varied from international CNBC, the MPAA with an international focus, and independent movie companies. They did say that the thing that helped most with getting the jobs were networking (which Iapos;m not used to), and making yourself stand out. According to them, my school is 1 of 2 law schools that allow school credit for externships, which is a step up since most large companies (Sony included) wonapos;t take any interns unless it can be traded for school credit :D They also said the legal department really needs to understand the industry on the business and creative side. At least I have that handled Although most large companies require 1-2 years of working at a firm, I want to make working in the Entertainment industry one of my main goals as an attorney hearts; Someday I want to set up a solo/contracted practice too... Who knows when that will be though Iapos;m just starting

I canapos;t wait until this semester is complete and I can start looking for a summer internship XD I would love any in LA (since Orange County probably doesnapos;t have much on the Entertainment side)... Pasadena... Northern California... Even going abroad sounds fun I found out that my Torts teacher is actually a very prominent attorney in the Entertainment industry and was actually the President COO of Village Roadshow Pictures Entertainment O_O Time to visit his office hours to ask about the Entertainment Emphasis program and get my copy of Zoolander signed XD /horrible
